operation hug a hero
The Flat Parent program supports students' health and everyday lives across the Minot Public School District and their families while one of their parents is deployed. The program helps alleviate the anxiety, tension, and pressures on the students' physical and emotional well-being so that they can concentrate better in and outside the classroom. Minot Air Force Base is currently experiencing a large deployment, putting the Flat Parent Program in high demand.
Funds for the Flat Parent Program provide students with a deployed parent(s), a life-size standing poster of mom/dad, and or a 17-inch pillow doll with a voice recorder that the parent can use to record a special message from mom/dad. The flat parent/hero doll allows a deployed parent to have a presence while away.
